2729 Previous studies have demonstrated that BPC 157 attenuates oxidative stress primarily by reducing MDA levels, as shown in BuddChiari syndrome and isoprenaline- induced myocardial I/R models.50,59 Similar reduction in MDA following BPC 157 treatment have also been demonstrated in colitis-associated I/R model.62 In hepatic ischemiareperfusion induced by Pringles maneuver, BPC 157 reduced MDA levels together with preserved histological integrity, supporting the consistency of its antioxidative effects.55 Although direct evidence of its effects on SOD in I/R is limited, BPC 157s antioxidant activity has been linked to radical scavenging via its carboxyl groups and restoration of glutathione- and enzyme-based defense systems.51,56 Additionally, BPC 157 has been shown to restore NO bioavailability and attenuate its pathological overproduction in cecum perforation and peritoneal adhesion models.84,85 Given the interplay between O2, NO, and ONOO, SOD activity is critical, as it reduces superoxide levels, enhances NO bioavailability, and limits peroxynitrite formation.86 Accordingly, BPC 157 may regulate NO homeostasis not only through nitric oxide synthasedependent pathways but also via SOD- mediated mechanisms, although direct evidence remains limited
