The original was broken into nine pieces and subsequently reconstructed. It is now exhibited at the Statens Historical Museum in Oslo. The `glasses` protect both the eyes and the nose, whilst the chainmail affords the neck a flexible protection. The helmet is constructed from 2 mm thick steel. It is unpolished and darkened in the manner
